A warm start to a warm welcome

Finally, I restarted blogging after I don't know how long ago. Well this is many to blog about my Overseas Immersion Program (OIP) here in Chengdu China.

I now this post came in very late, but I just didn't have the time to blog into the computer (I kept a written diary no doubt).

Okay, now for day 1.

I guess the trips starts from where I left home for the airport. That's when I really felt strongly about this trip.

The feelings really changed from time to time that night. It went from excitement from the moment I left home to nervousness on the way. The feeling of anxiety and worry flooded my mind as I looked at the car window.

Somehow amidst the constant reminders from my parents, I finally felt the concern from my parents (not that I really noticed before).

When it was time to head inside and clear immigration, I bid my farewells to my parents and I really felt sad and I could see the worried faces of them. I waited till my parents left and went out of my sight before I made my way in.

Hurry up people the aircraft is boarding soon

Flying in the middle of the night is really weird. I can never sleep on a flight which has been a tried and failed attempt on my previous flight. The flight was very uncomfortable as I tried my darned best to sleep. Finally, the aircraft landed at close to 7am in the next morning (Day 1). It was nice to descent from above the clouds while the sun is rising from beneath the clouds.

I can't sleep, so I take pictures of other sleeping

Look how stone and tired everyone is

WELCOME TO CHENGDU
成都欢迎您

What is really unexpected is the weather is hot and humid. I did not pack for this climate which would result in quite a uncomfortable week ahead. The traffic here is CRAZY!? everyone overtakes at free will without much concern about road safety, but it seems that everyone is accustomed to this.

Our outrageously crazy lunch

The whole table is filled with dishes!

I cant possibly take pictures of every dish

Much of the day was spent unpacking and setting up everything in the room. After an opening meeting with the director, we toured the campus and had an early night. Gosh, I was so exhausted that I knocked out not long after I lied down on the bed.

After the meeting
